I write about whatever I wake up to in the morning that's on my mind 🃙

People of the world – especially those that represent the ‘power’ in this world – have created a place of deceit and willful deception. And it sprinkles throughout the land like ultimate truth. One thing is a given: connected within social media; controlled and scripted.

On second thought and having just went for lunch and sliding down the most delicious smoothie, I said to myself, “You know what? What the hell are you writing that load of crap for today?” So I stopped and here we are, in such a pleasing mood.

Let’s get one thing straight: don’t distract your day because people have trouble decoding a rabbit hole, owned by the oligarchs-wanna-be. Might as well go for a smoothie.

Enjoy this pic of two crows on a wire with the morning moon.

have enjoyed? 1$ tip jar

Every year millions (billons?) of tons of food is wasted right at the point of processing. Beautiful food. Perfectly, new food. It simply doesn’t make the cut or is too expensive to harvest. Probably the real reason is the speed and efficiency at which we must capitalize (capitalism).

Let’s take the lowly cod’s head, for example. Nobody at the local wharf would ever consider harvesting these cod’s heads—they are discarded overboard as waste. Nobody except this 91 year old man who’s witnessed times when waste was impermissible. This was food when there was none. That tradition – or necessity – is long gone in the age of mass production of boxed, frozen, and preserved food.

When one gets past the conditioning of what is not acceptable to eat, and educates oneself on the horrors of boxed, preserved, dye-injected, nutrient-deficient, commercially-productive, profit-intensive packaged foods for the masses, only then will one enjoy a feed of cod’s heads.

I have nothing to write tonight. I’ll just leave you with a photo:

What if you decided to get up today and block the news. News is not happy stuff; I look at it when I wake-up in the a.m., when I wake in the middle of the night (though I try not to), and again throughout the day and evening. Crazy, eh? Sliding laterally for a moment – and I'll come back to the news shortly – take a look at this photo 👇 …it was taken during autumn and currently this is summer, but…

…this is typical of the view that I wake up to every morning. Notwithstanding that I live a hundred meters or so behind this viewpoint and more elevated – and notwithstanding the slight magenta-cast in the photo – this is typically my view: winter, summer, spring, and fall. It’s a community of 500 souls or so and the nearest town of 100k people is almost 200km away. Then, the nearest city with 1 million+ people is across an ocean – I live on an island – an almost 2000km away by automobile drive.

Back to the news: what, really, is the point? Conflict, strife, raging forest fires, political unrest. It’s endless. It’s exactly what keeps us interested and “entertained.” It draws us in. It actually feels like the events of the day are in our back yard. And, for a lot of people in this world, it probably is. But for many of us, such isn’t the case (although last summer we were impacted by forest fires).

So, if you’re waking up and the news got you down, then tune out for a day or a week or more and tune in to your small corner of the world and enjoy the view. Give your mental state a rest—if the news of the world is coming to your doorstep then you’ll know soon enough. Chill, people.

Enjoy your day 📷

I've been searching for a 'platform' to write my thoughts. A platform where there is no subscription-payment to join, no-one has to subscribe or pay to read my posts – and I, likewise don’t pay to read theirs – and it's independent of everything and everyone.

I asked Claude.ai – not in the exact above words – to find me such a platform – and write.as and another were the recommendations. Write.as is the one I shall start with.

So, what can I do here? Where's the formatting buttons? How do I insert an image. Ironically, my first post is about how to use this beast (trust me, Claude.ai did not refer to this platform as a 'beast,' nor did Claude.ai write this post – every fingered keyboard stroke is my own!)

So, poking around and mousing over the top-left icon (W), a drop-down menu surfaces and I see that I can switch from the 'Use Plain Editor’ to ‘Use Rich Editor.’ Great! Now, I have a menu at the top!!! So exciting! Wonder if I can insert an image? Yep, there it is… let’s stick something in here; I’m an amateur photographer (sometimes semi-pro $) and I love images, especially my own :D

NEAT! I wonder what else I can do! Already my mind is racing, but as Claude told me—and I did ask for simplicity and independence—keep it simple. So, sit back, take a deep breath and relax. Write that simple blog post that you’ve always wanted. Distraction free! No commitment from or to anyone! Learn some markdown syntax and go from there. Yay!

Finally, to keep it basic and make me happy, I will place a border around my image. A quick internet search yields this result:

<img src="YOUR_IMAGE_URL" style="border: 2px solid #555555;     padding: 5px;" alt="My Image">

Therefore, by switching back to the plain editor and thereby having my image show as code, I can modify and insert the search code to display the css on my image. That said, the modification failed and that's a wrap for this post. I shall update the 'trick' for a future post.

Have a nice day :)
